EipponCellHPMC YB 5150MS is a type of Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose that demonstrates limited solubility in absolute ethanol, ether, and acetone.   However, when exposed to hot water at temperatures ranging from 80 to 90°C, it disperses rapidly and undergoes swelling, ultimately dissolving quickly upon cooling.   The aqueous solution of this compound exhibits remarkable stability at room temperature and is capable of forming gels when subjected to elevated temperatures.   These gels exhibit temperature-dependent changes in consistency.

EipponCellHPMC YB 5150MS possesses a range of exceptional properties, including excellent wettability, dispersibility, adhesiveness, thickening, emulsification, water retention, and film-forming capabilities.   Additionally, it exhibits impermeability to oil. Films formed from this compound demonstrate outstanding toughness, flexibility, and transparency.   Being non-ionic in nature, it can easily coexist with other emulsifiers.   However, it is susceptible to salt precipitation and maintains solution stability within the pH range of 2 to 12.
